November might be the best month to be in Miami. The summer heat has eased, the ocean is still warm, and the calendar is packed with festivals, books, films, and holiday previews.
The weather is pure gold: highs in the upper 70s, low humidity, and plenty of sunshine — perfect beach weather without the crowds of winter high season. It’s the sweet spot locals love.
The month opens with stories and cinema. The MIAMI short FILM FESTIVAL celebrates its 25th edition November 13–15 with screenings across the city, and the Miami Book Fair takes over downtown November 15–22, culminating in the free Street Fair weekend — eight days of authors, readings, and literary celebration.
Thanksgiving brings its own Miami flavor. On Thursday, November 26, turkey trots and family fun runs pop up across the county, and the city’s parks and beaches stay lively all weekend. It’s also when the holiday lights begin to sparkle: Zoo Lights and the NightGarden transform the evenings into glowing wonderlands.
Film and art lovers can start warming up for December: Miami Art Week previews begin trickling in at the end of the month, ahead of Art Basel’s December 4–6 run.
And the everyday joys never stop: kayaking through Oleta River State Park, the free Wallcast concerts at the New World Center, strolling the Wynwood Walls, or simply watching the sunset from South Pointe Park.
November in Miami is proof that the city’s magic doesn’t take a season off — it just gets better.
