One bench in Central Park. Two men who could not be more different. And one of the most electric conversations in American theater.
ARCA Images — the acclaimed Miami theater company — brings Edward Albee’s classic ‘The Zoo Story’ back to life in a brand-new bilingual production, ‘La Historia del Zoológico,’ directed by Carlos Celdrán. Presented by the Miami-Dade County Auditorium as part of its Away From Home series, the show runs November 6–15, 2026 at the Westchester Cultural Arts Center.
On that park bench, Peter — a buttoned-up Anglo-American executive — meets Jerry, a Hispanic man desperate to be heard. What starts as small talk turns into an intense, unforgettable confrontation about loneliness, class, language, identity and our deep human need to connect. Reimagined for contemporary Miami, this production digs into the cultural and linguistic distance between its two characters — and it is performed in Spanish and English with simultaneous English translation.
Evening performances are at 8:30 PM with select matinees at 5:00 PM. Tickets run $33.60–$39.20. A bold, bilingual night of theater you will be talking about long after the curtain falls.
