3rd Festival de Bomba y Plena Brings Free Puerto Rican Celebration to the Miami Beach Bandshell

The drums are calling: the 3rd Festival de Bomba y Plena lands at the Miami Beach Bandshell on Sunday, October 25, for a free celebration of Afro-Puerto Rican heritage through music, dance and community.

From 5 to 10 PM, the Bandshell’s open-air stage fills with the powerful rhythms of bomba and plena — Puerto Rico’s living musical traditions — with live performances by groups including D’Pleneros, traditional dance, artisans, food and a joyful community gathering under the stars.

Bomba, with its dynamic dialogue between dancer and drummer, and plena, the beloved “sung newspaper” of Puerto Rico, are at the heart of the island’s cultural identity. This free festival is a beautiful chance to experience them live in one of Miami Beach’s most magical venues.

Admission is free. Bring the family, bring your dancing shoes, and celebrate Puerto Rican culture by the sea.
