Here’s a beautiful way to spend a Saturday morning: giving Miami’s coastline a little love. Frost Science’s MUVE program — Museum Volunteers for the Environment — invites everyone to a volunteer workday at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park on Saturday, October 17, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.
Volunteers will join MUVE in enhancing the coastal habitat through community science at one of Miami’s most beloved barrier-island parks. No experience needed — just bring your energy, sun protection and a willingness to get your hands a little sandy. Students can earn community service hours (forms are signed after the event), making it a perfect family outing with a purpose.
Check-in is located by the restoration plot near the back of the park: pass through the park entrance gate and drive past the main parking lot. For GPS directions, enter “Historic Virginia Key Beach Park.”
MUVE is Frost Science’s award-winning environmental restoration program, and its volunteer workdays are open to all ages. Come plant, restore and protect the shoreline — and enjoy one of Miami’s prettiest beaches while you’re at it. More details: frostscience.org.
