Orchid lovers, this weekend is yours. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden presents Orchids in October on Saturday and Sunday, October 10–11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: a full weekend celebrating one of Miami’s most beloved flowers.
Already a beloved South Florida tradition, the festival gathers collectors, plant enthusiasts, and curious beginners in one place. Meet Fairchild’s experts and local growers to learn the secrets of growing orchids at home, browse the curated orchid marketplace on the Garden House Lawn, and explore the living collections — Fairchild is the only botanical garden permanently growing most of its orchid collection outdoors on trees, in their natural context.
Do not miss the Tropical Orchid Rainforest, the Caribbean Jewels exhibit, and the South Florida Native Orchid Hammock. You will also learn about the Million Orchid Project, the nation’s largest educational outreach program dedicated to reintroducing native orchids across South Florida’s landscapes — and you can even take home a propagation kit to grow your own.
Adults from $27.95; members get free admission. Food and drinks available on site.
