Miami Beach is about to get a whole lot more colorful. On Wednesday, October 28, The Bass museum unveils “Pedro y Juana: Aquí” — a textural, maximalist, site-specific installation by the Mexico City architecture and design studio of Ana Paula Ruiz Galindo and Mecky Reuss.
Composed as a world-within-a-world inspired by Miami Beach and its shared subtropical identity with Mexico City, the exhibition wraps visitors in a visual fantasy: rosy trees that echo the real ones in Collins Park, South Florida flora and fauna tufted into a vibrant carpet, playful animal-like furniture and floral light fixtures spilling from the walls. Every element is meticulously designed — the jungle meets the urban jungle, right outside the museum’s massive windows.
It’s an invitation to slow down: sit on the landscape, look up, and stay awhile in a 360-degree composition where nature spills off the wallpaper and becomes the room itself. “Aquí es Miami” — here is Miami, and this landscape is for you.
The Bass is located at 2100 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. Don’t miss one of the season’s most joyful art experiences.
