What if a lemon could play the piano? At The Bass in Collins Park, Japanese artist Yuko Mohri turns that whimsical question into art. Her solo exhibition “Yuko Mohri: Unviolated Imperfection,” on view September 17, 2026 through May 30, 2027, fills the museum with kinetic, sound, and water-based installations that make invisible systems visible — and audible.
Mohri is known for her playful “sculptures” built from everyday objects: fruit wired to produce gentle sounds, water that drips in rhythm, pianos that seem to play themselves. Works like “Decomposition,” “Moré Moré (Leaky),” and “Piano Solo” invite visitors to slow down, listen closely, and discover the quiet poetry hiding inside ordinary things. Kids and grown-ups alike will find something to marvel at — it’s contemporary art at its most joyful and hands-on.
With a generous eight-month run, there’s no rush: plan a sunny Miami Beach day around it, pairing the museum with Collins Park, the Botanical Garden, and the beach just steps away.
