America is turning 250, and one of Miami’s most beautiful historic places is telling the story in a very personal way. The Deering Estate has partnered with the Genealogical Society of Greater Miami for “Family History is America’s Story: Tracing the Deering Family through Time” — an exhibition that follows members of the Deering family who played a role in the founding of the country, from before the Revolutionary War all the way to today.
It’s a lovely reminder that big history is really made of family stories — and it’s a perfect excuse for a family day out. Take in the exhibition, then spend the afternoon exploring the estate’s stunning bayfront grounds, historic houses and nature trails, all in one visit.
The exhibition is on view through October 31, 2026, and it’s included with general admission: $18 for adults (ages 15 and up), $10 for children ages 4–14, and free for Deering Estate Foundation members and little ones under 4.
Plan your visit at deeringestate.org — and bring the whole family to discover how one family’s story became America’s story.
