Art You Can Feel: “America Touched, America Seen” at the Coral Gables Museum — But Hurry, It Ends November 1

Here’s a Miami exhibition that asks you to experience art with more than your eyes. “America Touched, America Seen,” on view at the Coral Gables Museum through November 1, is a collaboration with Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired — and it’s as moving as it sounds.

The exhibition celebrates the creative voices of visually impaired artists of all ages, from children to adults and seniors, who participated in collaborative art sessions. Each piece highlights how touch, movement, and imagination shape art, inviting every visitor to consider how vision can emerge through the hands as much as through the eyes.

Part of the nationwide America 250 celebration, the show explores themes of the American story and the global language of soccer, bringing together ideas of community, resilience, and belonging. Works from the Miami Lighthouse adult art program, Academy 2nd & 3rd grade students, and five individual adult artists fill the gallery with pieces that are personal, powerful, and full of heart.

Time is running out: the exhibition closes November 1. The Coral Gables Museum is open Tuesday–Friday and Sunday 11 AM–5 PM, Saturday 10 AM–6 PM, and don’t miss Gallery Night on the first Friday of the month (6–10 PM), when the museum opens its doors for free with live music and a cocktail bar.
