One of Europe’s great modern art collections is headed to South Florida. Pérez Art Museum Miami will present Picasso–Klee–Matisse: Masterpieces from the Museum Berggruen, opening October 29, 2026 and on view through February 28, 2027 — among the first Miami museum exhibitions of canonical European Modernism at this scale, and PAMM’s first show devoted entirely to Modern masterpieces.
Nearly 100 works arrive from Berlin’s Museum Berggruen and the Berggruen family collection, alongside pieces from PAMM’s own collection. Expect Picasso’s beloved La Lecture (Woman Reading, 1953), his celebrated Blue Period Portrait de Jaume Sabartés, Klee’s luminous Landscape in Blue, Matisse’s cut-out Vegetal Elements, Cézanne’s Portrait de Madame Cézanne and Giacometti’s signature elongated sculptures.
The twist that makes this presentation pure Miami: PAMM pairs the European masters with Latin American Modern masters from its collection — Diego Rivera, Joaquín Torres-García, Wifredo Lam — drawing conversations about exile and migration that resonate deeply in this city.
Organized thematically around still life, portraiture, interiors, landscape and the emergence of Cubism, it’s a rare chance to see art history’s giants through fresh eyes. Mark October 29 on the calendar now.
