Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) keeps putting Caribbean art at the center of the global conversation. The museum has announced the recipients of the 2026 cycle of the Green Family Foundation Caribbean Cultural Institute (CCI) Fellowship Program: Noa Batlle, Theresa Chromati, and Karina Moret-Miranda.
Now in its seventh iteration — and newly expanded through a landmark partnership with the Green Family Foundation — the program advances the study of Caribbean art while opening doors for exchange and collaboration across the region and its diasporic communities. The self-directed fellowships run from September through December 2026 and span three tracks: the CCI Research Fellowship, the CCI Artist Fellowship, and the CCI + Women Photographers International Archive (WOPHA) Fellowship.
The 2026 fellows were selected through an open call by Iberia Pérez Gonzalez, PAMM’s Andrew W. Mellon CCI curatorial associate, and José Carlos Diaz, the museum’s senior director of curatorial affairs and chief curator, alongside distinguished external partners including Aldeide Delgado, founder and director of WOPHA; Krys Ortega, curatorial and public programs manager at Bakehouse Art Complex; Barbadian art historian, writer, and curator Allison Thompson; and Deborah Willis, professor and chair of photography and imaging at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
“This year’s fellows share a commitment to rethinking the ways histories are embodied, remembered, and transmitted,” said Iberia Pérez Gonzalez. “Across painting, photography, and archival research, each project proposes new ways of understanding identity through the lens of migration, spirituality, ancestry, and the body. Together, they exemplify the interdisciplinary and research-driven practices that are shaping contemporary Caribbean art today.”
The CCI Fellowship Program fosters art projects and research that advance cultural development and scholarship in the Caribbean and its diaspora — cultivating new ideas, challenging traditions, and celebrating the creativity of the region, right here in Miami.
