Miami may not get snow, but every December it glows — and the 2026 holiday lights season is shaping up to be the brightest yet. Here are the must-see light displays to put on your calendar now.
Zoo Lights Miami returns to Zoo Miami on select nights from November 27 through December 30, 2026, transforming the zoo into a wonderland of more than one million bright, animal-shaped and tree lights. The after-hours family event runs 6:30–10:00 PM with animal encounters, arts and crafts, the Arctic Express train ride, s’mores, and Santa appearances through December 23. Admission starts around $15.95, with early-bird pricing ending November 26 — and a portion of every ticket supports animal conservation.
NightGarden lights up Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden from November 7, 2026 through January 11, 2027, in its seventh year. The 83-acre tropical landscape becomes a glowing wonderland of art, light and imagination, with new installations including the interactive Welcoming Tree, the Secret Garden Laser Show and a refreshed Fairy Quest, plus returning favorites like Archie the Talking Tree, the giant dandelions and the Orchid Bridge. Expect food trucks, seasonal cocktails, family treats and holiday movie nights on select evenings. Tickets start at $28; children 3 and under are free. Closed Thanksgiving Day.
Closer to the Beach, the Miami Beach Holiday Festival of Lights brings a spectacular drone show over Lummus Park on December 12, 2026 — hundreds of illuminated drones painting the night sky above Ocean Drive.
And just up the coast, the beloved Winterfest Boat Parade sails its decorated boats through Fort Lauderdale’s waterways in December, a South Florida tradition worth the short trip.
Bundle up (lightly — it’s Miami), grab hot chocolate, and let the city light up your holidays.
