The numbers are in, and they are spectacular: Greater Miami and Miami Beach welcomed a record 28.3 million visitors in 2025, generating a staggering $32.2 billion in total economic impact for Miami-Dade County.
The milestone figures were unveiled at the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau’s annual State of the Travel & Tourism Industry event, held this year at the historic Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables — fittingly, during the iconic resort’s 2026 centennial celebration. More than 500 guests joined Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and other leaders to celebrate tourism’s role as an economic powerhouse.
Visitors spent $22.7 billion on lodging, dining, shopping, transportation and entertainment in 2025 — up 4.1% from 2024. The industry supported more than 216,000 jobs, representing 10% of all employment in Miami-Dade County, and generated over $12 billion in wages across the hospitality sector.
The momentum is carrying into 2026: through the first four months of the year, Greater Miami and Miami Beach led the nation’s top 25 hotel markets in occupancy, average daily room rate and revenue per available room. Add a robust pipeline of global sporting events, cultural programming and conventions — plus the 2026 Michelin Guide’s recognition of the destination’s restaurants — and Miami’s star keeps rising.
Tourism here is far more than an industry: it funds the infrastructure, cultural institutions and community experiences residents rely on every day. Record visitors, record spending, record jobs — Miami is thriving.
