A punk-rock landmark turns 25 — and its creator is coming to celebrate. The Miami Film Festival partners with ThisMyShow and The Parker Playhouse for the 25th anniversary celebration of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” on Sunday, November 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Wells Hall at The Parker in Fort Lauderdale.
In 2001, a punk-rock musical about a divided self blazed through Sundance, winning Best Director and the Audience Award — and it refused to be forgotten. Now fans can celebrate the beloved film with an unforgettable evening featuring writer, director, and Golden Globe-nominated star John Cameron Mitchell himself, whom the Miami Film Festival will honor during the event.
Whether you’ve belted “Wig in a Box” a hundred times or you’re discovering Hedwig for the first time, this is a once-in-a-generation night of music, film, and queer joy in South Florida. Tickets are on sale now through the official listing.
