Picasso, Klee and Matisse Come to Miami in PAMM’s Biggest Modernism Show Yet

Miami is about to host one of the most extraordinary art exhibitions in its history. “Picasso–Klee–Matisse: Masterpieces from the Museum Berggruen” opens at the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) on October 29, 2026, and runs through February 28, 2027 — and it is a once-in-a-generation event.

Nearly 100 masterpieces by Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee and Henri Matisse — along with works by Alberto Giacometti, Paul Cézanne and Georges Braque — travel to Miami from the Museum Berggruen in Berlin. It is PAMM’s first exhibition devoted entirely to European modernism, and the museum is staging it as a joyful dialogue with the modernist masters of Latin America already in its collection, from Diego Rivera to Joaquín Torres-García and Wifredo Lam.

Two cities that shaped modern art — Paris and Berlin — meet Miami on the waterfront. Whether you are a lifelong art lover or simply curious, this is the kind of exhibition people will talk about for years. Mark your calendar: October 29 is opening day, with a special evening Art Talk at 7:30 PM. Plan your visit at pamm.org and get ready to see the giants of modernism up close, right here in the 305.
