Follow the yellow brick road to Coral Gables! Actors’ Playhouse is bringing “The Wizard of Oz” to the historic Miracle Theatre through October 31 — a funny, clever children’s musical that sends Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodsman and the Cowardly Lion on their beloved journey to meet the mighty Wizard.
The adaptation, with book and lyrics by Jim Eiler and music by Jim Eiler and Jeanne Bargy (based on L. Frank Baum’s classic book and originally produced by the award-winning Prince Street Players), is made to entertain the largest and the smallest of munchkins alike — a perfect first live-theater outing for young audiences.
Performances run October 6–31, 2026, with Saturday shows at 2 p.m. and weekday matinees at 10:30 a.m. for school field trips. A Sensory Inclusive performance on Sunday, October 18 at 2 p.m. offers modified sound and lighting, a quiet room, noise-reducing headsets and on-site specialists — so every family can enjoy the magic together. The theater also offers a Kidsbill play program to make the day extra special for young theatergoers.
Actors’ Playhouse has called the Miracle Theatre home on 280 Miracle Mile for 38 seasons, producing acclaimed musicals and plays that anchor Coral Gables’ cultural life.
Don’t miss your chance to see the magic — ruby slippers included.
