The woods come alive after dark! Deering Estate brings back its beloved Night Hike & Campfire series, a guided nighttime walk through the estate’s natural areas, running on select Wednesdays from 7 to 9:30 p.m., October through May. The season kicks off Wednesday, October 14.
Participants ages 4 and older can discover the woods, wildlife and sounds of the natural areas after dark, guided by experts who reveal the secrets of the nocturnal landscape. After the hike, everyone gathers around a campfire to close the evening outdoors — the perfect ending under the Miami night sky.
Guests are encouraged to bring a flashlight and s’mores, and to wear comfortable clothing suited for an outdoor evening walk; long sleeves and long pants are recommended. Check-in is at the Main Gate, and guests should arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Tickets are $25 per person and available via Miami-Dade County Park Link, with a discount for Deering Estate Foundation members. Deering Estate, at 16701 SW 72nd Avenue in Palmetto Bay, is one of Miami’s most treasured historic and natural landmarks — and a night hike is a magical way to experience it.
