The curtain rises on a brand-new season of dance in Miami! Miami City Ballet opens its 2026/27 season with “Fall Mix,” a sparkling program that weaves together classical brilliance, jazzy elegance, and an electrifying world premiere — all on the stage of the Ziff Ballet Opera House at the Adrienne Arsht Center, October 16 through 18.
The evening kicks off with George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante, a kinetic burst of technical precision and youthful exuberance that defined the choreographer’s neoclassical style. Then comes the world premiere everyone is talking about: a new work by former Miami City Ballet principal dancer Patricia Delgado, created in collaboration with award-winning composer and songwriter Emily Estefan — a true Miami homecoming for both artists. The night closes with a bang: the company premiere of Jerome Robbins’ seminal Opus Jazz, which infuses the improvisational spirit of American jazz into classic ballet vocabulary.
Performances are Friday, October 16 at 7:30 PM, Saturday, October 17 at 7:30 PM, and Sunday, October 18 at 1:00 PM. It’s a perfect excuse for a night out in downtown Miami — pair the show with dinner at one of the restaurants near the Arsht Center.
Tickets are on sale now at miamicityballet.org and arshtcenter.org. Don’t miss the most exciting dance opening of the fall season!
