Miami, the music is starting tonight. The Tony and GRAMMY Award-winning musical Buena Vista Social Club makes its South Florida premiere this evening at the Adrienne Arsht Center, opening the 2026–27 Broadway in Miami season right in the middle of Hispanic Heritage Month.
The show runs September 29 through October 4 at the Ziff Ballet Opera House, bringing Havana’s legendary sound to life with a live band of virtuoso musicians. It has a special Miami connection: the book was written by Hialeah native and Tony Award nominee Marco Ramirez, and the choreography — which earned a 2025 Tony Award — was created by Miami native Patricia Delgado with Justin Peck. Delgado, a former Miami City Ballet principal dancer, helped craft the show’s joyful movement.
Beyond the stage, the Arsht is turning the whole week into a celebration. Rhythm & Roots at the Arsht offers free plaza concerts, dancing, domino games, and local vendors on Thomson Plaza — the perfect free plan before or after the show, and ideal for families.
Tickets range from $52.65 to $204.75 at ArshtCenter.org, with performances each evening plus weekend matinees. Arrive early: Biscayne Boulevard and the Omni area offer plenty of spots for dinner before the curtain goes up. Cuba’s music has never sounded closer to home.
