Jazz Roots is back at the Adrienne Arsht Center with a 2026–27 season celebrating jazz’s global reach — and the opener is a dream for bossa nova lovers. “Jobim and the Music of Brazil” takes the stage on Friday, November 6 at 8:00 p.m., honoring the centennial of Antônio Carlos Jobim, the father of bossa nova.
The concert brings together Grammy winner Eliane Elias, clarinetist Anat Cohen, Trio da Paz, Shelly Berg and the Frost School’s Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra for a night of timeless Brazilian melodies. It’s the kind of once-in-a-season gathering that reminds us why Jazz Roots has become a Miami institution.
The season continues with “100 Years of Blues” starring Elvin Bishop and Charlie Musselwhite (April 2), Juan de Marcos and the Afro-Cuban All-Stars (April 23) and the Christian McBride Big Band (May 6). Four-show subscriptions start at $158 at arshtcenter.org, or call the box office at 305-949-6722.
