Miami Beach’s most iconic street party is turning 50. Art Deco Weekend returns to Ocean Drive from January 15 to 17, 2027, transforming the stretch between 5th and 12th streets and Lummus Park into a free, three-day celebration of design, culture, and community.
Created in 1977 by the Miami Design Preservation League — the nonprofit founded a year earlier to save the district’s pastel landmarks from demolition — the festival has grown into one of the country’s great preservation celebrations, drawing more than 50,000 visitors. Expect vintage exhibitions, guided architecture tours, lectures, live music and performances, antique shows, and family-friendly activities, all set against the world’s largest collection of Art Deco architecture.
The full 2027 program will be announced in December, so mark your calendar now and check artdecoweekend.org as the date approaches. The festival is free to attend, though select tours and experiences may carry a separate cost. Fifty years in, it remains the best weekend of the year to fall in love with Miami Beach’s colorful architectural soul.
